Town Location

Seven kilometres south of the former imperial city of Regensburg, framed by rugged, limestone rocks, in the scenically attractive Danube valley, lies Bad Abbach with its rheumatism centre.

The market town of Bad Abbach belongs to the rural district of Kelheim and the administrative district of Lower Bavaria. It is located on Federal Road B16 between Regensburg and Kelheim, nestled in a harmonious and well-integrated landscape in a large bend of the Danube, at the edge of the Altmühl Valley.

There is a very good traffic connection by way of the nearby autobahn junction, with direct routes to Regensburg, Passau, Nuremberg and Munich.

Bad Abbach can also be easily reached by train via Regensburg.

The town's landmark can be seen from far away – "Henry's Tower", which was once the keep of a well-fortified castle.

Shops, service providers, tradespeople and accommodation, as well as several industrial businesses, form the basis for the economic structure.
